Wizidoo research notes: quiz retries and parent conversations
What do product records actually tell us about studying? This release documents a small set of quiz and parent-onboarding observations. They are not an experiment showing that Wizidoo improves learning, and the participants have not been established as a US sample. The counts, definitions and caveats are available together.
The observations
| Measure | Count | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Correct next-session answer after an initial error | 247 of 331 questions (74.6%), 50 accounts | Selected questions with a retry. 286 retries occurred within 24 hours; this is not lasting retention. |
| First recorded session with at least one error | 64 of 99 accounts (64.6%) | A single wrong answer meets this definition. It does not mean 64 students failed a test. |
| Reported school conversations | 12 cut short, 6 tense, 9 discussions; 27 accounts | Choices made in commercial onboarding, not a representative family survey. |
| Reported school follow-up | 10 assessment results, 10 no concrete system, 7 teacher contact; 27 accounts | Self-reported choices, not independently observed family behavior. |
How the measures were constructed
The internal extraction is dated October 5, 2026. An administrative filter excludes known internal/test accounts and accounts created before March 17, 2026. The filtered quiz history contains 4,771 answers from 99 accounts. Unknown test accounts cannot be ruled out solely by this filter.
Retry matching starts with an account's first answer to a question and finds the first answer to that question in the next distinct session. The 247/331 calculation includes initially incorrect questions only when another session exists. Of the 247 correct retries, 244 had no recorded in-app hint.
The first-session measure uses the session containing an account's earliest recorded answer. Repeated answers within that session are reduced to the first response to each question. Requiring at least five distinct questions leaves 64 accounts with an error out of 94. Neither definition is a school passing threshold.
Parent responses use the latest completed answer per eligible account and question. Anonymous-session answers are linked only when a single identified account can be established; ambiguous links are excluded. Each published question has 27 responses. The answer options and sales context shape what can be reported.
Limits that travel with the numbers
Questions from one person are not independent participants. People who retry may differ from people who stop. Question difficulty, outside assistance and product versions were not controlled. Age, country and later grades were not established. These records cannot establish a causal effect or a national benchmark.
Excluding the largest retry contributor leaves 225 correct answers out of 293 questions across 49 accounts. Using first attempts from September onward gives 141 out of 189 across 26 accounts. These sensitivity checks do not eliminate selection bias.
The one-week question remains open: 57 repeats at least seven days later came from just five accounts, at differing delays. We do not extrapolate a forgetting percentage or a retention curve from that group.

The CSV contains aggregate counts only, with no account identifiers, personal course content or individual answers. Its columns identify extraction date, measure, numerator, denominator, contributing accounts and scope. Each row is a measure, not a person.
